Practical Session 2 Update – Oman

We appreciate how much the cancellation of our exams has affected learners and we’re working hard on solutions to ensure they can gain their qualifications at the earliest opportunity. However, on the basis of official and local advice we will be postponing the entry period for Session 2 Practical exams and we will provide an update about the exams scheduled for November - December as soon as we can.

We will provide updates about future exams sessions as soon as we can and our Representative will provide further guidance in due course.

We are very sorry for the impact on teachers and candidates and thank you for your loyalty and support at this difficult time.

NYCGB auditions: start something amazing

NYCGBABRSM is pleased to be one of the two principal supporters of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain’s (NYCGB) Fellowship Programme Talented young singers between Year 5 of school and the age of 21 (as of 31 August 2016) are encouraged to start something amazing and book an audition for their chance to join one of NYCGB’s outstanding choirs:

  • The National Youth Boys’ Choir (School Year 5 – age 15)
For boy trebles and boys with changing voices of outstanding ability and potential.
  • The National Youth Girls’ Choir (School Year 6 – age 15)
For girls of outstanding ability and potential.
  • The National Youth Training Choir (ages 14-18)
For mixed voices (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) of outstanding ability and potential.
  • The National Youth Choir (ages 16-21)
NYCGB’s flagship ensemble, for mixed voices (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) of outstanding ability.

Successful auditionees will be invited to take part in up to two residential courses per year (including rehearsals, musicianship classes, individual and group coaching, and career advice for older members), as well as recording sessions, broadcasts, music videos, concerts, and tours.  NYCGB Director Ben Parry said: “Every talented young choral singer in the UK, whatever their background, should know that NYCGB is a place where they can grow as singers and as people. Nobody should rule an audition out because they think that we don’t sing the right music, or because they worry that they won’t be able to afford it. If you have a great voice, and the passion and ability to take your singing to the highest level, then NYCGB is for you.”
