- If you're shortlisted, we'll ask you to come in for an interview with a panel of colleagues. Depending on the role, we may also ask you to complete a test - we'll let you know in advance if we plan to do this.
- In some cases, we may ask you back for a second interview - we'll let you know about this as early as possible.
- If we offer you the role, we'll do pre-employment checks to make sure everything is fine in terms of references, work eligibility, etc.
How do I apply for a role?
You'll find all our vacancies on our recruitment portal.
When you apply, you'll be asked to send us your CV and provide some personal details as well as information about your work experience, education and referees who can be contacted if you're offered the role.
You'll also be asked to complete a supporting statement demonstrating how you meet the requirements of the role as described in the job description and the person specification.
Can I just send in my CV if there are no suitable jobs available?
We encourage candidates to apply for specific jobs rather than speculatively sending in their CV. If you can't find a suitable vacancy at the moment, we recommend that you regularly check our website for vacancies.
What if I can't complete an online application?
If you'd like to apply in a different format (for example, in a Word document) because you're unable to use the online process, please contact the HR team using the form on this page.
How can I maximise my chance of being shortlisted?
It's important that you complete all sections of the online application form so that the recruiting panel can understand your skills, interests, behaviours, knowledge and experience are relevant to the role.
Shortlisting is mostly based on the information you provide in the supporting statement. When completing this, please refer to the job description and show us how your experience matches what we need in the role.
You may want to use the STAR approach:
Situation: Describe a situation you were in. It could be something from your previous employment or personal experience - just make sure it's relevant. Give enough detail for the person shortlisting to understand what was involved.
Task: Explain your responsibility in that situation and what you needed to do.
Action: Describe the action you personally took to resolve the situation. Explain the process/steps you took. Even if you're describing a group project, describe what you did rather than what the team did as a whole.
Result: This is the crucial part of the answer. Explain what happened as a result of your actions. Talk about what you achieved, the benefits of it, and what you learned.
The person specification mentions a particular qualification or experience that I don't have. Should I still apply?
The person specification lists the key skills, knowledge, experience and behaviours needed to carry out the job successfully, and we'll make an assessment using the information you provide.
If you don't quite meet the criteria - for example, if you have an understanding of something rather than experience of doing it yourself - and are able to demonstrate your understanding or how you might approach a situation/task, we'd definitely take this into consideration.
However, some of the person specification points (specific qualifications, for example) can be critical to the role, so if you don't meet those requirements you're unlikely to be shortlisted.
How quickly will I know if I have been shortlisted?
Every recruitment campaign will be different depending on how quickly the shortlisting panel can review applications, but if you haven't been shortlisted, you'll receive an email from us confirming that.
If I'm not shortlisted, can I get feedback on my application?
Yes, we're able to offer feedback on your application if you aren't shortlisted for an interview.
Can I get feedback after my interview?
If you're unsuccessful in your interview, we can provide feedback.
